Officials of the West Plains Community Garden will be in the lobby of the civic center throughout the Home & Garden Show the first weekend in March to sign up gardeners for space at the community garden located at the corner of Lincoln and Olden in the Don Warden Park.  Registrants for community garden space may visit the civic center lobby without purchasing a ticket to the Home Show.

Gardeners, whether returning from last year or new to the garden, will complete a brief application, promise to follow all garden rules and pay a modest rental fee for garden space.  All gardening is accomplished without toxic chemicals using organic practices.  Ground-level spaces, 4 ft. x 22 ft., are available for $15 for the year. Veggie Trugs, waist-level beds measuring 2.5 ft. x 6 ft., rent for $7.50 per year. The waist-level beds are intended for those who are unable to work at ground level due to mobility issues.

Home show hours are 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
