Construction has been in full swing the past few weeks on days Mother Nature is favorable. Work at the future home of Love’s Travel Stop has included signage, dirt work and preparation for concrete. City administrator Beverly Hicks said Love’s projects completion of construction by September. “With many new construction projects going on right now, city electric, water, sewer and street crews have been extremely busy – and it’s a busy that we welcome and anticipate to continue as new development moves forward. This is the development that we have been working toward for a few years.  The city wants to be a progressive city with a reputation of being a good partner, building relationships with developers and making this a community people want to be a part of.” Hicks told city council on Friday afternoon the city has spent more than $185,000 so far this year on its part for economic development.
