Thieves break-in to Mtn. View restaurant

Four unidentified persons broke in to Fine China restaurant at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 29, says Mountain View Police Chief Jamie Perkins.
"We believe it was a targeted strike because [the victims] are a cash-only business, and the register is easy to see from the outside," Chief Perkins told the News.
The four subjects broke a plate glass window and fled, apparently to see whether the police would respond to an alarm. After five to ten minutes, the thieves returned, entered the building, and took the cash register.
"They didn't unplug the register, but instead ripped the electrical cord leaving a hot wire exposed against the wooden counter. Upon my entry, I did step on the entry shocking myself. We are fortunate we didn't have another bus barn incident," Chief Perkins reports.
The as-yet-unidentified thieves made off with approximately five dollars in loose change and the cash register.
No charges have been filed as of press time.
