Pruett Will Not Appear on the April Ballot

As of the close of candidate filing for municipal elections, there are only two candidates in this April’s race for mayor. John Krasuski and Randy Reese are the two contenders for the seat. Despite filing on opening day December 7, incumbent Mayor Donnie Pruett’s name will not appear on the ballot, confirms Howell County Clerk Kelly Waggoner.
There are three alderman seats up for election in the general election.
A one-year unexpired term in the East Ward is contested by incumbent Laura Wagner, Terry Gunter, and Jeremy L. Phipps.
A two-year term in the East Ward is a race between incumbent Judi Colter and challenger Murray Anderson. Anderson filed on December 20.
In the West Ward, incumbent Punkie Stevenson is not seeking reelection. His seat is contested by Rick Thornton and Lindell Vandevort.
The municipal election is April 5, 2022.
