Mtn. View woman seriously injured in crash

An 86-year-old Mountain View woman was seriously injured in a crash last Tuesday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mavis Aye, 86, was traveling westbound when a 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Derrick West, 45, of West Plains failed to yield and crashed into Aye’s Chevrolet Equinox. The collision occurred at the intersection of County Roads 3380 and 1990 at 11:45 p.m. 

The crash report says Aye was wearing a seatbelt, but West was not. West was not injured. Aye was taken by ambulance to a Springfield hospital for her injuries.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged and towed from the scene.
