Mtn. View Garden Club selects the Yard of the Month and the Community Bed of the Month for July

The Mountain View Garden Club has selected the yard of Steve and Paula Brown at 305 Doris for the July Yard of the Month. As you approach the front door, you see a rustic bench with several decorative items and on the stoop is a pot of Vinca's and Mose Rose. To the left of the porch is a bird bath, being used as a feeder, which is surrounded by yellow Knock-out Roses. As you continue around this very well maintained yard you find that the gardens are bordered by a rock border.  Lily of the Valley, Plox, Boxwood shrubs, Sedum, Hostas, Gold Mound Spirea, Zinnas, Moss Rose, Marigolds, a large purple-blooming English Rhododendron, and Irises of many colors fill the side garden. The rear garden is filled with Multi-Floral Roses, a Tree Peony, Coral Bells, Day Lilies, Asian Lilies, Bee Balm and Hydrangeas. A lovely white Mandeville is growing up the back porch railing. Bird houses, bird feeders and chimes decorate the back porch. In the yard are a Dogwood, a Maple, a Peach and a Weeping Evergreen tree. They also have native Honeysuckle, Forsythia, Zebra Grass and a Strawberry bed in the yard.

The July Community Bed of the Month has been awarded To Mr. J. Farmer, the owner of Bed 37. This well maintained bed is full of Yellow Squash, Green Peppers and Tomatoes.
