Howell County News will host the Great Pumpkin Contest at the 2025 Bear City Fall Festival on Oct. 4. A blue ribbon and cash prize will be available for the biggest, heaviest pumpkin entered during the fall festival. To enter, simply bring your pumpkin to the Howell County News booth across the street from G&W Food on the morning of the festival. The contest is free to enter.
All entries must be received by 11:30 a.m. For pumpkins too large to carry, please note that vehicles are not allowed on Main St. past 7:30 a.m. Bring any monster pumpkins to the alley behind the news office where a cart will be available to transport them to the judging area.
Judging begins at noon.
In the meantime, we would love to see the biggest and best things you’re harvesting this summer. Bring them to the news office for a photo and enjoy your 15 minutes of fame!
