Liberty High School Distance Learning Due to Quarantines

Liberty High School stopped in-person instruction on October 19 because the number of quarantined teachers in the high school will prevent the school from offering adequate instruction in person, read a statement from the school dated October 16. Seated instruction is expected to return on November 2.

“We know the best education is seated in the classroom by the teachers, this is the quickest way we feel to get our education back on track [sic],” read the statement.

The school is prepared to furnish a Chromebook and charger to any high school student who may need one for distance learning. Families with adequate internet access are asked to log in to Google classrooms each day.

Alternative arrangements are available for families without adequate internet access, or with other pressing needs for the student to be in school.

Free breakfasts and lunches will still be available to all students. Pick up times will be Monday and Wednesday mornings from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Participants will be able to pick up enough meals between the two days to provide breakfast and lunch for five days. Please call the school to communicate your intention to pick up the meals so the staff can prepare an appropriate amount of food.

Parents are encouraged to call the school with any questions or concerns.
