Calls for Service 
August 1
Officer Kris Reinholdt responded to a report of shoplifting from Signal. The individual left and went to Walmart. After leaving Walmart, Signal called back and stated the person returned. Officers were able to get the items returned.
Officer Reinholdt took a report of a broken door latch at a church. They will review video footage for evidence. 
Chief James Perkins spoke to an individual reporting harassment and a possible violation of a protection order. 
Officer Katie Sandgren investigated a non-injury vehicle accident.
Officers spoke to two individuals requesting information or assistance and issued one traffic warning.
August 2
Officer Scott investigated a vehicle parked with the door open. She found it belonged to a staff member of the business. 
Officer Reinholdt conducted a safety check on children’s safety.
Chief Perkins responded to a call reporting someone who needed to go to the hospital. His investigation revealed a verbal disturbance took place. 
Officer Koleman McDaniel took a report of vandalism. 
Officer Dylan Cook investigated a report of abandoned dogs. He took the dogs to the pound.
Officer Cook investigated a report of stealing from the charity jar at Dollar General. By watching store surveillance video, he identified the suspect. 
August 4
Officer Reinholdt responded to a report of a structure fire. Investigation found an air conditioning unit malfunctioned and filled the building with smoke. The fire department handled the call.
Officer McDaniel took a report of stealing from over the weekend.
Officer McDaniel assisted an individual with posting bond on their outstanding warrant.
Officer Cook received a call of two juveniles fighting in between the apartments. He found the boys in a vacant apartment. They advised their parent locked them out of the apartment so they could sleep. Officers issued the parent a citation for child endangerment.
August 5
Officer McDaniel assisted with a disabled log truck blocking traffic.
August 6
Assist. Chief Stetson Schwien received a call from City Hall asking him to investigate a possible electric line break after a vehicle struck the line. City Hall advised their electric crew went to Winona and none were in town. Asst. Chief Schwien responded to the area and due to safety concerns, did not enter the yard containing the downed wire. He advised them to call an electrician back to town. 
August 7
Assist. Chief Schwien received a request from EMS to assist with a medical call concerning possible trouble from a patient. When he arrived, the fire chief on scene advised him they did not need additional assistance. 
Officers issued three traffic warnings.
