Shirley Ann Henderson

Shirley Ann Henderson was born on April 6, 1936 to Leonard and Louise (Platt) Bowen in Harter Township, Clay County, Illinois.  She departed this life on February 27, 2023 at Willow Care Nursing Home at the age of 86 years.

Shirley was united in marriage to Melvin Henderson on December 18, 1954 and to this union two children were born, Debbie Henderson and David Henderson and later Shirley brought forth Nancy (Payne) Thomas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Louise Bowen; her husband, Melvin; one daughter, Nancy Thomas; three siblings, Naomi Keller, Zeke Bowen, and Faye Rutger.

Shirley is survived by her children, Debbie Henderson and David (Judi) Henderson, Sr.; son-in-law, Paul Thomas; grandchildren, Vicki (Brandon) Sigman, Rhonda (Daniel) Hobson, Sissy (Matt) Gann, Darrell (Stephanie) Beltz, Jennie (Tommy) Rothermich, Missy Henderson, Chyann White, Mandy (Andrew) Bryan, David Henderson, Jr., and Terra (Rockey) Dewitt.

Shirley attended Westside Family Life Center and cherished participating in the church ministries.   She enjoyed quilting and gardening in her downtime.  She also treasured volunteering at Willow Care Nursing Home and visiting with her friends.  Her greatest joy was being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, at Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, Missouri, with Pastor David Lovan officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs. Visitation was held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Clear Springs Cemetery, Willow Springs.
