Patsy Tackitt

Funeral services for Patsy Sue Tackitt, 83, Caulfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16, at Elijah Church of Christ, Elijah, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Tackitt passed away at 2:43 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023, at West Vue Nursing Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born October 10, 1939, at Rockville, Indiana, to Cecil Martin and Ruth Penn Martin. On March 1, 1955, she was married at South Bend, Indiana, to Billy Joe Tackitt. Patsy was a lifelong homemaker. She was a skilled quilter, baker and enjoyed canning produce picked from the family garden. Most of all, Patsy enjoyed spending time with those who called her wife, mom and Granny. In fact, family gatherings would consist of more than 50 people and 5 generations with Patsy sitting at the head of the table. After years of answering to "Granny", Patsy earned a new name of "Baby Granny" when her grandson-in-law picked her up and moved her in place for a family group photo. Her two year old great-grandson pointed and said "Look, it's a Baby Granny!" While many took care of her physically, Patsy will be remembered for having great mental and emotional strength, providing advice and a level head through the most trying times.  She raised her daughters to be strong, independent women while also being compassionate and loving. Patsy believed a homemaker also meant that you learned to become a jack-of-all-trades and so that's how she will be remembered. Talented. Strong. Loving.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Tackitt, Caulfield, Missouri; two sons, Bailey Tackitt and Windell Tackitt, both of Caulfield; three daughters, Ruthie Lee and husband, Craig, West Plains, Missie Tackitt, Caulfield, Missouri and Susie Williams and husband, Charles Lee, Caulfield, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Chrisy Barnes, Pomona, Missouri, Zac Brewer, Springfield, Missouri, Laura Collins, West Plains, Billy Ely, Aurora, Missouri, Melody Hubbell, Caulfield, Missouri, Sara Judd, West Plains, Melinda Martin, Caulfield, Aaron Tackitt, Carbondale, Pennsylvania, Brook Tackitt, Kelowna, British Columbia, Jenalee Tackitt, Kelowna, British Columbia, Paul Tackitt, Caulfield, Missouri, Ty Joe Tackitt, Caulfield, and Lexi VanDomelen, Portland, Oregon in addition to eight spouses of her grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Martin, Bakersfield, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Langston Hardin, Caulfield, Missouri and Edith Tackitt, West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
