Hubert D. Reaves

Hubert Dale Reaves, a resident of Willow Springs, MO, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 17, 2023, while at Willow Care Nursing Home. He was born August 15, 1936, to Clarence and Mary (Smyer) Reaves in Texas County, MO and was 86 years old.
Hubert graduated from Cabool High School in 1954. After graduation he taught in rural schools and Cabool schools while continuing his education. He attended Southwest Missouri State College earning his Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and later received his Master's Degree in Elementary Administration from Drury University. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly, on May 27, 1956. Hubert became elementary principal in Rock Port, MO and after two years, moved closer to home, accepting a position with the Willow Springs Schools. Throughout his employment he served as elementary principal, junior high principal, and taught 8th grade Social Studies. After retiring from the Willow Springs School District in 1989, he drove a school bus for several years. Hubert cherished many years sharing the gospel through singing with the Southern Gospel Quartets, "The Missionaries", and "The Sounds of His Coming". He was a long-time member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Willow Springs. Hubert enjoyed traveling with his wife Beverly, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and piddling with his John Deere tractors.
Hubert is survived by his son, Stephen Reaves and wife, Frankie of Willow Springs; his daughter, Jeanne Traw and husband, Jacky, also of Willow Springs; his grandchildren, Jeremy Reaves of El Paso, TX, Ashley Newberry and husband, Lindon, of Nixa, Jordan Reaves and wife, Leanne, of Willow Springs, Bradley Traw and wife, Courtney of Willow Springs, and Bethany Ewers and husband, John, of Willow Springs. Further survivors include twelve great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Neighborhood Christian Schools, P.O. Box 497, Willow Springs, MO 65793, or may be left at the Funeral Home.
A visitation for Hubert will be held at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 21, at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral service following at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Joel Hinds officiating. Interment will follow at the Bado Cemetery in Cabool, MO.
