Herschel Dean Cauldwell

Herschel Dean Cauldwell, a resident of Willow Springs, MO. passed away at his home on Sunday, April 30, 2023. He was born June 14, 1937, in Madison, KS. to Hershel Beal and Sophia (Blanck) Cauldwell and was 85 years old.

Herschel graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1955. He joined the U.S. Navy on December 1, 1955. Herschel was both a Korean War and Vietnam Veteran. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer (E7) on November 11, 1974. On December 19, 1958, he married Dixie Lee Wilbourn in Imperial Beach, CA. After his retirement from the Navy, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and pursuing his passions. In his free time, he loved to garden, raise fox trotter horses, and farming. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Herschel is preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Sophia; his brother, Larry Cauldwell; his sons, Russell and Donald Cauldwell; and his sister, Arlene Cauldwell.

Herschel is survived by his beloved wife, Dixie. He is further survived by many loving family members, his children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Herschel will be held Friday, May 5, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M at Willow Funeral Home, LLC with the funeral service immediately following with Wesley Scott Dickman officiating. Interment will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery with full military honors.
