Concetta (Connie) Loraine Hawkins

Concetta (Connie) Loraine Hawkins, 68, of West Plains, MO passed away on April 6th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 7th, 1956, in West Point, NY to Gertrude and Joseph Cosentino.

 

Connie was the middle of 10 children and the oldest daughter. She loved her family more than anything. Sunday dinners as a young adult and family vacations to the beach and the mountains were her fondest memories growing up. Connie loved rock and roll, laying out in the summer by the pool and cheering for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. Connie had a sweet tooth; she loved her mother’s homemade fudge and always had a fresh gallon of sweet tea in her refrigerator. Connie never met a stranger, she loved people; a short trip to the grocery store often turned into an hour-long conversation. Connie was a fun person and had the best laugh, she enjoyed showing her grandchildren how to pull jokes on others. Connie was most proud of her son and daughter and enjoyed nothing more than watching her children and grandchildren grow up.

 

Connie was preceded in death by her husband Gary Grainger, Mother & Father Gertrude & Joseph Cosentino, Siblings Peggy, Joseph, Frank, Sam, Roger, Dennis, Russell.

 

Connie is survived by her daughter Danielle Grainger and son Chris Hawkins (Samantha), siblings Scott Cosentino, Debby Cosentino Thompson, and sister-in-law Crystal Cosentino (Joseph). Grandchildren Juliana Hawkins, Krista Jarrard, Joseph Dorrell, Christopher Hawkins, Kallan Grainger, Olivia Violett and Devin Violett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
