Area native joins Ozarks Healthcare

Ozarks Healthcare recently welcomed Mary Kate Brasier, WHNP-BC, a women’s health nurse practitioner, to Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Health as a new provider. Brasier joins Dr. Dennis Albino, Dr. Kristyn Menendez, and Jennifer Rhoads, WHNP-BC, in providing compassionate, expert women’s health care backed by the total resources of the Ozarks Healthcare system.
Brasier earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar.
When asked why she wanted to pursue women’s health, Brasier said, “Sometimes in healthcare, women may not feel they are being heard. I want to be the person that helps and cares for them and that they are getting somewhere with their concerns.”
With extensive experience as a labor and delivery nurse, she was ready to move up to the next step in her career by moving into a clinic setting.
“Moving back home and working at Ozarks Healthcare was my first choice upon finishing my advanced training,” Brasier said. “I’ve been training for the next step for as long as I can remember, and now I am ready to build a practice here.”
Having grown up in Pomona surrounded by family on their farm, Brasier has happily returned to the area with her husband and young daughter. Besides spending time with family, she enjoys crafts of all kinds.
“The recent addition of Brasier to our women’s healthcare team is a huge asset for our health system and community,” Tom Keller, Ozarks Healthcare President, and CEO, said. “With an increased need for expert women’s care, Brasier’s experience and skill set, along with her enthusiasm for the unique healthcare needs of women, will greatly benefit our patients in receiving the care they need close to home.”
Brasier is accepting new patients. Contact Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Health at 417-256-1838 for more information. Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Health is located at 1627 Gibson St. in West Plains and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
