Jim Cox Memorial Scholarship winner announced

This year’s recipient of the Jim Cox Memorial Scholarship goes to Hailey Sigman. Hailey is a 2022 graduate of WSHS. She is the daughter of Vicki and Brandon Sigman. She graduated in the top 20 of her class this spring. She will be attending college in the fall at Missouri State in West Plains pursuing an elementary education degree. 

“Hailey is just one of the finest young ladies I know, and she has a kind old soul to her,” said Shawana Cox in the scholarship announcement. “I told Hailey that my brother’s spirit lives on through these scholarship winners. Jim loved people - all people!! He always played sports for the glory of his team much like Hailey. She has a bright light to her spirit and a gentle kindness to herself. Jim would if loved knowing that she loves photography as he did.”
