Annual Sponsorship Campaign to be held for Willow Springs Arts Council

The Willow Springs Arts Council, currently in their fourteenth year, is committed to bringing art events to the community. Covid curtailed many of their activities, but they are back and ready with fresh ideas to continue their mission.
Last year, they elected not to do a fund-raising campaign due to the uncertain times. But now we they asking for help to support their stated mission “To promote community participation in the Fine Arts”!
One of their most popular events is the annual summer Kids Art Camp. For two weeks they conduct art classes for different age groups introducing them to a new art concept. The council also sponsors various workshops for all ages during the year. These events are some of the most popular and will continue in 2023.
The Southern Ozarks Community Orchestra is another premier group sponsored by the Arts Council. This group has been a part of Arts Council for thirteen years and continues to grow. Nearly 30 musicians of all ages gather to provide a string orchestra experience for this area.
Currently, the orchestra has a concert scheduled for Nov. 19 at the Star Theater. Mark your calendars for a fun performance entitled “Happy Hallothanksmas”.
For several years, the Arts Council has partnered with the Willow Springs Schools and sponsored a trip to the Springfield Art Museum for all fifth grade students. The council will be proud to continue that program tradition.
The Arts Council has always provided funds for various drama groups to assist in the production of their plays. This year, the Arts Council has provided a grant to a Willow High School senior who will be presenting a play in December as her senior project.
Also in December, the Arts Council will be sponsoring a School Art and Photography show for area high schools. Currently, they have three schools participating and their work will be on display at the Ferguson Building for viewing on Dec. 3 and before the Christmas parade.
To continue to support the arts in our community, the Arts Council sincerely asks for your support with the Annual Sponsorship Campaign.
